  • Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
  • Select "Download Aadhaar"
  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha
  • Verify with OTP sent to your registered mobile
  • Download the password-protected PDF (password is your name in capital letters + birth year)

Lock Your Aadhaar Biometrics

If you suspect misuse, immediately lock your biometrics so no one can misuse your fingerprints for authentication.

  • Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in → Lock/Unlock Biometrics
  • Verify via OTP on your registered mobile
  • You can unlock anytime when you need to use biometrics

Apply for a Reprint

  • Via NSDL: tin.tin.nsdl.com/pantan/StatusTrack.html (select "Reprint PAN Card")
  • Via UTI: utiitsl.com → PAN Card Services → Reprint
  • Cost: approximately ₹110 (Indian address) or ₹959 (foreign address)
  • Delivery takes 15-20 business days

Protect Against Misuse

  • File an FIR mentioning PAN loss — keeps you protected if someone tries to use it fraudulently
  • Monitor your Form 26AS on the Income Tax portal for any unknown transactions
  • Check your CIBIL score after a month for any unexpected loan applications
PAN misuse: If your PAN is misused to file a fake tax return, respond immediately by contacting the Income Tax helpline at 1800-180-1961 and raising a complaint via the e-filing portal at incometax.gov.in.
